The 2024 Jessie Games were one of the best ever, at least according to those who were there.

As before, the 11th annual Jessie Games were held at AHN Sports Complex at Cool Springs, and while it was a beautiful day outside, it was even more so on the inside. Kids of all ages had a great time playing, laughing, racing, smiling, dribbling, to get running, and at times, eating.

A high point for many was getting their picture taken with some special furry friends who stopped by the neighborhood.

We are grateful to all who came to enjoy the day with us, to all the wonderful staff at Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh, to our generous sponsors and donors, and to our great volunteers, who supervised the play, served up sno-cones, popcorn and pizza, and handed out free T-shirts.

We were blessed once again by the talents of photojournalist Stephanie Strasburg, who volunteered her time to capture the day in pictures to help us remember the day in a special way.

And thank you to KDKA-TV, for stopping by and sharing our day with its viewers.

The best part of the day was seeing so many smiles, laughter and joy.
